Arbor makes oak chairs by hand in small runs. We art-directed the photography and built a Framer site that sells them like objects, not stock.
The brief
Arbor sold mostly at fairs. Their old site was a grid of white-background photos that made a hand-made chair look like anything else.
What we made
Photography in real rooms at the end of the day, a site that tells the story of each chair, and a CMS the team updates themselves whenever a new run is ready.
What changed
Online orders grew 61 percent in the first year, and most buyers now arrive through the journal.
